This quote says everything.so if you are a seasoned adventurer, then you are going to forget something. That something might be small, like your favorite spices to make your dinner tasty or a blister prevention, it might be a lighter, those tiny things will be left behind. It’s my suggestion to all the backpackers to read out my article because I have listed Top Beginner Backpacking Mistakes every beginner made. If you are a new backpacker or little experienced or highly experienced someone but always make mistakes, then all of you guys must look forward to my article. I assure all of you that my article helps you a lot for your dream trip.

If it’s a one or two or three-night weekend trip or several months on the AT, when you are in the wilderness, you cannot do anything but to regret. There are Top Beginner Backpacking Mistakes which most of the people make. Check your backpacking list and making sure of yourselves that you are ready to go for knowing & enjoying.

  • Choosing the right backpack:

Your backpack must be comfortable & sit comfortably on your hips .it should be move with your body. Most importantly u should practice with your gear before you hit the big trail.so be careful when you choosing the poorly-sized pack, it will make you slow and you will feel back pain.   • Avoiding new boots:

Some people are very excited about their trip.so they try to bring new materials. New boots are one of them. But you cannot enjoy your walking with new boots .it harms your feet. Nothing will cause more mishap upon any trip than using boots that are new and fresh out of box.so I highly request you to stop thinking that u will wear new boots in your hiking.

 

 

  • First Aid:

In your hiking, you are in the middle of nowhere. Maybe you are in the mountains, a small village or on a deserted beach etc. An accident can occur any time at any places.so your first & foremost duty is to take first aid box with you. Before going for the trip, you must learn the primary use of first aid box and make the best use of it and your fellow Mets emergency. It’s one of the Top Beginner Backpacking Mistakes.

Our first-aid kit contains the following items:

  1. Band-Aids and gauze;
  2. safety pins;
  3. a thermometer;
  4. mosquito repellent;
  5. oral re-hydration powders;
  6. water purification tablets;
  7. antibiotic/antiseptic lotion for cuts and scrapes (it: Polypore); and
  8. Ibuprofen/Paracetamol or some sort of painkiller & fever reducer (Tylenol, Advil, Panadol, etc.).

 

 

  • Sunscreen:

Every hiker badly needs sun protection cream in all calamities. Forgetting sun protection can cause your skin to chafe and peel and causing pain.

  2. Full facial and a hat
  3. Neck cover
  4. Long pants
  5. Women can take scrap with them

 

  • Bug spray:

Mosquitos bites are very annoying while you are walking on your trip.it causes itches and rashes, using bug spray will keep away pesky mosquitos. For your concern or being a well-wisher, I request you all to take bug spray in your pack that will go a long way.

 

  • Overpacking or under packing:

Most travelers frequently do over backpacking and it can be considered as Top Beginner Backpacking Mistakes. As a human being, we often fear the unknown. But don’t worry, I’m here to help u.so tell me are you planning for this trip spending a month? Then u should start packing at least 2 days before your trip. I suggest u avoid cotton. Ultralight packing is best for traveling. There u also don’t get enough time to change clothes often, so take comfortable clothes & necessary gear with you. Please recheck before leaving home.

Because you can’t get your essential things in your hiking.so be careful when packing your backpack. Check the list I showed here:

  1. Map (with protective case)
  2. Compass
  3. GPS (optional)
  4. Altimeter (optional)
  5. Lip balm
  6. Sunglasses
  7. Insulation
  8. Jacket, vest, pants, gloves, hat (see Clothing, below)

  14. Waterproof container
  15. Firestarter (for emergency survival fire)
  16. Repair kit and tools
  17. Knife or multiple
  18. Repair kits for the stove, mattress; duct tape strips
  19. Nutrition
  20. Extra day’s supply of food
  21. Hydration
  22. Water bottles or hydration reservoirs
  23. Water filter or another treatment system
  24. Emergency shelter

 

 

  • Keep drying sleeping bag:

Are you surprised to hear that? It’s quite surprising but so true. If you are going to sleep in a wet sleeping bag, it seems like a sleeping bag in the pits. Still, the new backpackers find this blunder a rite of passage but when you will face the reality then you are going to understand my point of view about sleeping in a wet bag. Be smart and develop an obsession with trying to keep your sleeping bag dry. During the rainy season, you have to pack your sleeping bag in a waterproof container and put in to your backpack.my suggestion is to take extra protection for such a critical situation to face and its very obvious to claim your backpack to be waterproof but don’t be overconfident because generally few are waterproofed.so my advice is worthy of remark for u.

  • Packing “THE BIG 3”:

The “Big 3” is quite interesting, right? okay, I will reveal it after taking sometimes. Let me tell u that when you are in your home with your heavy bag, it seems very easy and light to carry but you have to remember that nature is rarely flat and almost 2,200 steps in every mile, you have to walk in your trip.so once you get it on the trail, it’s unbearable & uncomfortable for you to carry heavy backpack & it won’t take very long way.

Now it’s time to reveal “The Big 3”. it’s your three essential things like _your shelter, your backpack & your sleeping bag. when you are quite experienced, you gained knowledge about lightweight gear and it’s obvious that packing light will make your journey more comfortable, enjoyable and amusing.

 

  • Stop Feeding animals:

Travelers love to feed wild animals but it’s very shocking to me. Rarely I find backcountry travelers to store their food properly and it’s very important. proper storage of food is a big deal. it’s not only for you but also for wildlife. It’s very harmful in this way that when you feed an animal with your hand, it changes their habits and they have clear idea that human associated with food.so stop feeding wild animals and trust me it’s not very hard to do. your life is very precious and it’s very worthy to keep your wildlife wild.

  1. Bear canisters

  3. Properly hung bear bags

 

  • The treatment system for water:

Safe water is called life so be very careful to invest in a good treatment system and before you travel out, make sure you tested it that water treatment system is working or not. backpacking mistakes beginner had made, water treatment is very common.be aware of drinking safe & clean water because water treatment mistake can sideline you or end your adventure fruitless.

 

 

  • Knowing your speed:

Robert Lloyd said what I trying to say.be easy with your speed, it’s not a race where you participate.so you have to go at a pace that really works for u. if you are going with a travel agency or friends or unfamiliar people, relax and make sure that someone hikes with you or request them to slow down or cope up with your speed.

 

  • Cooking and eating Tent:

Stop cooking in your tent, it blunders very badly. And a Big No to eating food in your tent.  I don’t want you to wake up in the middle of the night, seeing the blunder happened by the animals. Tent damage is not only the reason but also your life.so, odor attacks animals and any kind of tent issue will last you for the rest of your life.it is regarded as the Backpacking Mistakes

 

  • Using your trekking poles rightly:

Keeping your hands available and make sure that you are holding poles in a right way and it has to be at right length. after that, they do whatever they guessed to do.

Follow these tips to use the poles:

  1. Use both poles.
  2. Hold them correctly.
  3. Customize length.
  4. Adjust length as you go.
  5. Plant poles carefully on slick terrain.
  6. Descend safely.
  7. Make stream crossings safer.
  8. Keep it natural.

Leaving a trace is the Top Beginner Backpacking Mistakes which every backpackers does nowadays. That’s not my saying. Its seen to be written in a signboard. people who love to travel, all of them are The nature lover and no doubt in it.   In the case of that stop throwing trash because it destroys that places beauty.it spreads bad smells and it makes people feel that this place is not traveled worthy.so be an educated man/women, never do anything which decreases natural beauty. Please make a promise to yourselves that you follow that signboard saying and informed other people you know. Lastly, we all love our world & natural beauty surrounded us.

 

 

  • Go with all your heart & enjoy:

Overnight backpacking trips can change your life. Most travelers are unaware that all journey have secret destinations. So last advice of mine is that enjoy every minute of the trip because it is not the length of the life, it is the depth of life.
